- • Oseltamivir works best if taken within 48 hours of developing symptoms. For active symptoms, take one capsule twice daily for five days, with or without food. For prevention after exposure, take one capsule within 48 hours of being exposed and continue taking one tablet daily for 10 days. You should always take all capsules in the cycle (10), even if you start to feel better.
